The Church at Rancho Bernardo is committed to raising Go First Leaders. Our Kids Ministry, Go First Kids, is a key part of that mission—providing a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment where children can learn about the love of Jesus.

We are seeking dependable and caring individuals to join our Childcare Staff team. This role provides direct supervision and care for children during our Sunday morning services and select weeknight events throughout the year. Team members help support a welcoming and fun environment where children feel safe, valued, and known.

Schedule

Sundays: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Occasional weeknight shifts may be available in the fall

Responsibilities

Provide attentive and age-appropriate care to children during ministry programming
Implement safety and check-in/check-out protocols
Lead or assist with playtime, activities, and simple biblical lessons
Maintain cleanliness and organization of children's room
Communicate positively and professionally with parents and volunteers
Support the Children’s Ministry Coordinator with setup, cleanup, and prep as needed
Adhere to all ministry policies and procedures for child safety and conduct

Qualifications

At least 16 years old
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a heart for working with children
Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
Ability to maintain confidentiality and composure in a fast-paced environment
Must pass a background check and child safety screening prior to start
Prior experience working with children is a plus but not required
