Living In Denial

Hidden sin keeps us from truly living.

Jesus calls us to live in denial?

Don’t live in denial. Confess your sins.
But even better than that,
Live in Denial…
And you may have much less sin to confess.
I’ll explain.

If you and I would start living in denial, you could stop living in so much denial.

If I will start living in denial of myself, I will have less to deny about myself.

But who do you say that I am?
- Matthew 16:15

You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.
- Matthew 16:16

Since you know who I am, let me tell you where I am going.

Where you going Jesus?
I’m going to the cross to die.
Wanna join me?

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me."
- Matthew 16:24

Why in the world would I want to be his follower if it means denying myself and carrying a cross to my own crucifixion?

The highest and best use of his life was at the cross.

The greatest use of your life is found on the other side of denying yourself.

I will find real life when I give up my life.

For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
- Matthew 16:25

Comfort can become king in our lives.

Saying yes to serving when you’d rather be relaxing.

What if the American Dream and the life Jesus is describing are not the same thing?

Jesus calls us to ask – How can my life be used for the good of others?

What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

Is anything worth more than your soul?

Our greatest life is on the other side of denying our self.

What is one thing Jesus has been asking you to surrender that you've been protecting?

When I start living in denial of myself, I will find the life I’m really looking for.
