Impact

We believe Jesus calls us to Go First—to show up, serve boldly, and love
our neighbors through tangible acts of compassion.

What is Impact?

The Bible tells us the two greatest commandments are to love God and love people. Impact is one of the primary ways we get to love our neighbors–by showing up to meet the needs of our city & world. Whether delivering meals, building beds, or walking with someone through crisis, our goal is to Go First & love our community–one act of service at a time.

FAQs

What is Impact at The Church at RB?

Impact is how we put love into action—through strategic partnerships, community service, and global outreach. It’s our way of “going first” to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our neighbors locally and around the world.

What does it mean to “Go First”?

“Go First” is our calling to lead with love. We aim to be the first to show up when help is needed, reflecting Jesus by serving others before being asked, without hesitation or condition.

Who can serve with Impact?

Everyone! Whether you’re new to our church, part of a Circle group, or serving with your family, there’s a place for you. Most events are open to all ages, and some projects are tailored to specific groups (kids, students, adults, families).

What kinds of opportunities are available?

Impact offers both one-time and ongoing ways to serve, including meal packing, kit building, hosting drives, writing notes of encouragement, supporting our 23 local partners, and joining international trips.

How do I start serving?

Just click the “Start Serving Today” button to fill out our Go First form. You’ll get connected with the right project or team based on your interests, skills, or schedule.

What are this year’s key goals for Impact?

In 2025, we’re aiming to:

  • Serve 85,000 meals
  • Build 21 beds for kids in the Dominican Republic
  • Write 15,000 notes of encouragement
  • Engage 600+ people in serving
  • Empower 25 Circle groups to lead service projects
How does Impact support global missions?

We partner with 12 missionaries and multiple global communities. This year, we’re focusing on Algodon in the Dominican Republic—sending 2–3 teams to build beds, provide food, and deepen relationships. We’re also supporting relief efforts in Ghana, Tennessee, and LA.

How do I support Impact financially or through donations?

You can give financially through our Donate page or provide needed supplies like hygiene kits, school supplies, or gift cards. We update our donation needs regularly based on partner requests.

What is The Lodge, and how are we involved?

The Lodge is San Diego’s first hotel-turned-transitional housing facility for youth. We’ve adopted it as a local Impact focus—providing meals, supplies, and presence as we walk alongside young people transitioning out of homelessness.

Can I serve with my Circle group or ministry team?

Yes! We encourage every Circle group to serve together quarterly. We’ll provide project ideas, partnerships, and support so your group can Go First together.
